What makes PepLabo a better Pep GLP-1 Tracker alternative?
Both apps put doses, side effects, weight and meals in one place, so the difference is not the list of screens. It is what the app is shaped around: a GLP-1 prescription in one case, the whole injection routine, vials included, in the other.
Peptides and GLP-1 medicines in the same tracker
Pep GLP-1 Tracker covers a broad range of GLP-1 medicines, from branded pens to compounded semaglutide, tirzepatide and retatrutide, as shots or pills [1]. Its listing is clear that it is built only for GLP-1s [1].
PepLabo treats a peptide the same way it treats a GLP-1: a program with its own schedule, vial, sites and reminders. Its estimated level chart is drawn from a half-life you enter from your own source, where Pep GLP-1 Tracker’s estimate draws on published clinical data [1]. That keeps the chart working for a peptide, while staying a picture of your own log rather than medical advice.
Bottom line: if your routine includes anything beyond a GLP-1, PepLabo keeps all of it in one log.
Vials, reconstitution and syringe units
If what you inject comes in a vial rather than a pen, two numbers matter every week: how many units to draw and how much is left. PepLabo’s calculator works out the units from the vial amount, the water you added and the dose you were prescribed. Once the vial is saved, every logged dose draws it down, so a low vial is visible long before the last dose.
We did not find vial stock or an in-app reconstitution calculator in Pep GLP-1 Tracker’s listing or website [1][3]. Both are on PepLabo’s free plan, side by side.
Bottom line: PepLabo keeps the vial and the math that goes with it beside the dose, at no cost.
Cycles and breaks, not only escalation
Pep GLP-1 Tracker tracks dose escalation as a prescription steps up [1], which suits a GLP-1 titration. A peptide program can follow a different shape: a block on, a block off, then a planned week or two of rest.
PepLabo builds that shape into each program, with on and off periods that repeat in order and weeks off after a cycle. You can run several programs at once, each on its own schedule, and the site is recorded with every dose so rotation stays visible across them. We did not find planned breaks in Pep GLP-1 Tracker’s sources [1][3].
Bottom line: when your routine is planned in cycles, PepLabo follows the plan instead of a single rising line.
Reminders that catch a late dose and cross time zones
Pep GLP-1 Tracker offers reminders for shots, pills, water, meals and weigh-ins, plus a missed-dose guide [1][3]. PepLabo’s dose reminders cover three moments: before the dose, at the time and again if nothing has been logged. A few hours after a dose, PepLabo can also ask how you feel, so side-effect notes are captured while they are fresh.
On Pro, travel mode lets you pick a destination time zone and how to handle the shift, and the dose reminders follow. We did not find time-zone handling in Pep GLP-1 Tracker’s sources [1][3].
Bottom line: PepLabo’s reminders are built to notice a late dose and to keep their timing when you travel.
No account and no ad measurement
PepLabo starts without sign-up. Records stay on your phone, and the app has no analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs. You only sign in for Pep AI, which shows what it will send before your first message and never sends dose amounts.
Pep GLP-1 Tracker takes another route. You sign in so entries and photos back up, progress photos are encrypted on the phone before they leave it, and it says it never sells your data [1]. Its site adds that it uses App Tracking Transparency for anonymous ad measurement, separate from health information [3]. The trade-off in PepLabo is that moving phones uses an export file rather than a cloud account.
Bottom line: if you want injection records that never pass through an account or an ad framework, PepLabo is built that way.
A dose report for your clinician and a copy of everything
PepLabo Pro produces a PDF of your dose log to bring to an appointment, and the free plan exports all of your data to a file: doses, sites, vials, side effects and weight. Side-effect check-ins that link to a specific dose make that conversation more concrete.
Pep GLP-1 Tracker lines symptoms up with doses on a calendar to talk through with your provider, and it turns stats and photos into a Progress Card you can save or share [1]. We did not find a PDF report or a data export in its sources [1][3].
Bottom line: PepLabo gives you a record made for a clinical conversation, plus a complete copy that belongs to you.
Recovery data from WHOOP
PepLabo Pro reads sleep, recovery, HRV, resting heart rate, workouts and strain from WHOOP, and steps and weight from Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android. The data is read only and sits next to your doses, so a change after a new dose is easier to see.
Pep GLP-1 Tracker syncs with Apple Health [1][3]. We did not find WHOOP in its sources [1][2][3].
Bottom line: on Android or with a WHOOP strap, PepLabo puts recovery data and doses in the same view.
Where Pep GLP-1 Tracker is still better
Pep GLP-1 Tracker is a thorough GLP-1 app, and a few things it does go beyond PepLabo:
- Automatic backup when you sign in, with every device kept in sync on its Pro plan [1].
- An iPad app alongside iPhone and Android [1][3].
- Dose escalation tracking and a missed-dose guide [1].
- Body measurements, side-by-side photo comparisons and a shareable Progress Card [1].
- Short strength sessions planned around shot day, in a free companion app [1].
Bottom line: PepLabo comes out ahead in a different situation: when vials, reconstitution and cycles are what you have to get right every week.
What you get before paying anything
PepLabo is free to download, and the injection routine is free with it: dose logging, reminders, vials, injection sites, the reconstitution calculator and the research library. PepLabo Pro is $9.99 a month or $59.99 a year in the US, with 3 days free on the yearly plan for eligible new subscribers. Pro adds access to Pep AI chat, meal estimates from a photo, voice or restaurant menu, Apple Health, Health Connect and WHOOP data, widgets, travel mode and PDF reports.
Pep GLP-1 Tracker is free to download, and its site lists core tracking as free [3]. Its listing describes an optional auto-renewing Pro subscription that keeps every device in sync [1]. The listing does not state prices.
Bottom line: if vials and unit math are part of your week, PepLabo’s free plan already covers tools we did not find in Pep GLP-1 Tracker at any price.
PepLabo next to Pep GLP-1 Tracker, or in its place
Both apps log GLP-1 doses, so recording the same medicine in two places only doubles the work. If you rely on Pep GLP-1 Tracker’s backup or its iPad app for a GLP-1, keep that there and track peptides in PepLabo, where the vials, the calculator and the cycles live.
If you would rather keep one log, PepLabo can hold the GLP-1 and the peptides together, each as a separate program. The two apps do not share data, and there is no direct import, so you set up current programs and vials in PepLabo yourself.
Bottom line: split by compound if backup and the iPad matter to you, or move everything once vials are part of the routine.
Overall
Pep GLP-1 Tracker is a capable app for a GLP-1 prescription, with food scanning, escalation tracking, backup and an iPad version. Despite the similar name, it has nothing to do with PepLabo. PepLabo is the better choice when the routine reaches past a GLP-1: peptides from powder vials, unit math, cycles with breaks, reminders that catch a late dose and follow you across time zones, and records that stay on your phone without an account.
